So back in November Healthy San Francisco elected to immediately start covering gender re-constructive surgery, however I have yet to hear of anyone actually having been able to get it and have it covered, or doctors that will accept it. I'm in the process of getting my gender changed on my passport, and I thought I would share the information I received from the passport authority for anyone else in the same situation. The requirements for passports are lower than for birth certificates:

What are the requirements? Transgender attorney Phyllis Frye told me that in order to get a court ordered gender change, allowing me to be able to change the sex on my birth certificate,I would need to have both top surgery and a hysto, here in Texas.
